Underground Bedroom?

Another Fresh idea comes from a home in New York, especially the bedroom. Crumped, Quiet, beautifully lighted with loads of wooden articles. It is a real haven after a day full of work. The bedroom is in the basement, hidden from the street noises and neighborhood. The coziness is somewhat idealistic yet realistic.

Closet, when we take a look at the area, the hidden parts just kept showing up. It has two water heaters and a combination washer-dryer hidden right in the back of the closet. Smart placement with many ergonomic consideration in mind. To do this trick, a really small plumber is the only key!

Stairs, less than 10 cm high, it is both easy to fall and go up, this was made with visibility and slippage chances in mind as the bedroom is in underground.

Drawers, 1.5 meters well of fine plywood is custom made into a clothing drawers similar to small parts inventory bin. The house owner commented that she got the idea from local Japanese store. Due to the small space every innovation such found in plane, ship interior is used.

Ceiling, it expose the structure of the living-room floor overhead with slabs on steel beams. Instead of covering it with some materials, he left it as it is making the most of the limited height of the room. It is only 2.1 meter tall!

Verdict, limited space and underground is not taboo even for a bedroom. The design shows that clever use of space will not hinder comfort and usage.
